Sending Mass will be held on Sunday, April 3rd at 9:00 AM at St. Mary’s, Le Center

Confirmation Mass will be held on Saturday, April 9th at 10 AM at the St. Paul Cathedral

What is Confirmation?

• Confirmation is a sacramental outpouring of the Holy Spirit that leaves a permanent imprint on the soul, completes Christian initiation, and empowers us to be a witness to Christ. (CCC 1302-1305)
• It affirms our identity as children of God
• It unites us more firmly to Christ
• It increases in us the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
• It strengthens us to spread and defend the Faith by our words and actions, to be fearless witnesses to Christ and the power of the cross.

Parent Roles:

• The family is “the domestic Church” (CCC 1658). Ask your child about the weekly lessons.
• Practicing your faith: going to Mass weekly, going to Reconciliation, engaging in some form of service
• Praying consistently for an increase in God’s grace in your life and the life of your family.

Confirmation I Requirements:

• Receive a bible & tabs to bring to class each week and to use at home
• Earn 15 Service Hours by April 13th
• Choose a Saint’s name
• Choose a Sponsor
• Complete 8 Mass Notes by April 13th
• Weds., Oct. 27th – Parent Meeting 6:30-7:30pm
• Weds., Nov. 10th –NET Retreat 3:30-9:00pm
• Be on time, respectful, and attend at least 70% of classes
• Bring a copy of Baptismal Certificate if we do not have it on file already. If you were baptized or had First Communion at St. Mary’s, we should already have it. 

Confirmation II Requirements:

• Weds., Oct. 27th Confirmation II Sponsor Night 6:30-8:00pm
• Sponsor Interview & Written Report (due November 3rd)
• Weds, November 10th –NET Retreat 3:30-9:00pm
• Weds., February 23rd –NET Retreat 3:30-9:00pm
• Earn 30 Service Hours by March 23rd
• Complete 8 Mass Notes by March 23rd
• Be on time, respectful, and attend at least 70% of classes
• Bring a copy of Baptismal Certificate if we do not have it on file already. If you were baptized or had First Communion at St. Mary’s, we should already have it. 
• Attend Sending Mass on Sunday, April 3rd at 9 AM 
• Attend Confirmation Mass on Saturday, April 9th at 10 AM at the St. Paul Cathedral
